Our Impact

At BoxAid Global, our work is defined by the lives we transform and the futures we help rebuild.

Over the years, we have impacted countless individuals and communities through a holistic, human-centred approach that addresses not only material needs but the deeper drivers of poverty, vulnerability, and environmental degradation. Through our initiatives, individuals have been empowered to escape the cycle of poverty, reclaim their dignity, and pursue self-sustaining livelihoods. From vulnerable persons launching their own enterprises to communities embracing sustainable environmental practices, our interventions have inspired meaningful and lasting change. We do not measure our impact solely in statistics. Our true success lies in the narratives of transformation the woman who now runs a community kitchen from her training at a BoxAid centre; the child who received safe housing, education, and a future; the recycled materials that became tools of hope rather than landfill waste. We celebrate these stories as evidence of what is possible when compassion is matched with action, and when communities are given the tools to rise. Many of those we have supported have become advocates for change, passing forward the empowerment they once received. Our commitment remains unwavering: to build hope, restore dignity, and ensure that every life we touch is given the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive.

Nutritional Fortification Through Local Innovation

BoxAid Global has previously partnered with farmers in Zimbabwe to develop fortified food products in response to widespread malnutrition a persistent crisis in economically unstable regions. In many low-income communities, meals are consumed for their affordability, not their nutritional value. Access to fruits and vegetables remains limited due to high costs, resulting in a diet severely lacking in essential vitamins and minerals. Staple foods such as maize meal and white rice, while culturally significant and widely consumed offer minimal nutritional content on their own. These staples are deeply embedded in national identity and daily consumption patterns. Therefore, any nutritional intervention must respect local food traditions while introducing practical solutions. BoxAid Global is advancing efforts to fortify traditional foods without altering their cultural essence. Working with universities, food scientists, agricultural experts, and local herbalists, we aim to extract and preserve key nutritional compounds from available produce and transform them into fortified powders or additives. These fortified components can then be integrated into staple foods to enhance micronutrient intake at the household level offering a sustainable and scalable solution to dietary deficiencies. This initiative aligns closely with our broader commitment to waste reduction and resource optimisation. The annual volume of waste generated in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) rose from 81 million tonnes in 2012 to 174 million tonnes by 2016, with projections estimating an increase to 269 million tonnes by 2030. By extracting nutritional value from underutilised or surplus agricultural produce, this project will also contribute to a reduction in food waste while addressing public health challenges. Through this approach, BoxAid Global envisions a future where no child or adult suffers from preventable malnutrition, and where traditional diets are strengthened not replaced with scientifically backed, affordable nutritional innovations rooted in local knowledge and sustainability.
